With whom could you have an intelligent, civil and in-depth conversation? I'm not surprised that many children opt to leave school as soon as they can. The typical school board member is clueless and the materials continue to be sterile and without rich content and controversy. School boards seem to be more interested in the next election rather than in making a real difference in the lives of students.History text books, for instance, gloss over the unbelievable atrocities committed by Columbus in the name of his Kings. The real history is fascinating and relevant to the world today. (See: Howard Zinn. Another example is the disinformation about healthy diets. The dairy and meat industries spend millions of marketing dollars for schools to obscure the fact that excess consumption of dairy and meat is the number one killer o. Americans. How can dairy be one of the food groups when over half of the minorities in our schools have dairy intolerance or allergies? Dairy and beef are not essential for a healthy diet, and in fact, are harmful to most Western people over a lifetime. (Please see: T. A. US History / howard zinn? If Howard Zinn says that the estimates of half a million to 1 million casualties for an invasion of Japan were pulled out the air. How could say that when the Japanese had stationed 10 times more troops at the point we were going invade on the mainland than when we landed o. Okinawa. There is also the fact that the Japanese were heavily fortified, and they had 12,000 kamikazes which is calculated to have taken out 30 to 40 percent of our landing ships.. And on top of this the Japanese government drew up plans to use civilians as suicide bombers. How could Zinn say the casualty estimates were pulled out of the air when facing all this facts. Zinn's statements seems absurd to me? What do you think?
Atomic Bombing question.?
Doesn't Howard Zinn look a lot like Christopher Walken? Mine is "There is no flag large enough to cover up the shame in killing innocent people.- Howard Zinn"
